Reducing stress, anxiety and depression in intensive care

    Published

    VIEW DETAILS

This Ph.D. project, led by intensive care nurse Ann Louise Hanifa, investigates whether VR glasses can provide intensive care patients with a break from the high-tech, stressful environment of the ICU. The goal is to reduce anxiety and stress during their hospital stay, which may ultimately lower the risk of developing anxiety or depression later.

Our conclusion was that the children at familial High Risk for Schizophrenia were more likely to be bullied. We could not confirm the hypothesis that these children were more likely to perceive ambiguous situations as hostile. The higher rates of bullying amongst these children were confirmed by themselves, their caregiver and teacher. Good reasons to take care of these children.
