CONTEXT
Ambulance Syd faced a challenge: despite extensive theoretical training, it remained difficult for ambulance rescuers to make rational and effective decisions in high pressure situations.
SOLUTION
Khora developed 4 VR films simulating common conflict management scenarios, including a man with chest pain, a demented woman requiring hospital admission, a middle-aged man making verbal threats after his wife’s death and violent behavior from a drunken man needing hospitalization after a fight
IMPACT
The VR experiences was deployed via a custom app on headsets, guiding staff through multiple-choice decision-making. Each choice had immediate consequences and feedback. The VR training improved ambulance rescuers’ ability to handle high-stress situations, decision-making, and manage conflicts effectively.
